I struggled unsucessfully with the foozjs linux driver for a long time.

I was ultimately able to print through the network by attaching the laserjet to a pc and printing to a windows shared printer through SAMBA, but this was neither acceptable nor elegant.

But now Zenographics, the company behind the printer language used in the Laserjet 1000, has released an OS X driver.

Its an example from their SDK distribution, but it works perfectly for me, so far.

It installs just like any other printer driver, but more detailed instructions follow.

Now i installed the new driver from the vendor and it works (btw: I have a Minolta 2300 Desklaser).

The only thing is, that black text comes out a little smooth blurred (like on the screen), not sharp enough.

If the quality isnt as good as when printing from Windows, after spending over a year struggling with the printer and debating whether to just chuck it and buy a new one, Im not going to complain.

I hope so and will keep checking the site ever quarter or so.

The only thing that I was able to download was self extracting zip file with a bunch of windows files inside.

I didnt see anything about the DMG file or the install package.

Does anyone know where I would be able to get the driver for this printer, or download the correct example file.

Proceed with downloading the.exe.

Youll be asked to register and then you can choose from several files, one of which will be the Mac drivers.

When I try to print pdf documents from Adobe Acrobat 6.0.1, however, the printer does not respond.

I see that the print center accesses the printer and then displays the messages: Starting job followed by: No pages found And, after a few seconds the job line disappears without any other sign.

The official way is to send PDF files, which the driver is able to translate.

The adobe programs (and some carbon programs) send postscript, which the Zeno driver cant handle.

Im going to set up my own site wthe driver available for download.

This violates Zenos license (they want you to register to download), but if they wont fix their site, then bugger them.

Looks like that free DSL webspace may finally come in handy.

Now, does anybody know if this printer will work with AirTunes Express I have mine pre-ordered and will arrive next week.

To bring it back to life I had to do a complete uninstall of the driver, verify and repair the permissions and then reinstall the driver to get it to start working again.
